Blood pressure is written as two numbers — the higher one is the pressure as your heart beats, the lower one is the pressure as it rests between beats.
Most of the worry around blood pressure comes from not understanding it. The good news is that it is one of the most changeable numbers in medicine: movement, sleep, salt and stress all move it, often more than tablets do. If yours is high, that is not a verdict — it is a starting point, and usually a very hopeful one.
